Privacy Policy

How CampsAway collects, uses, shares and protects the information you provide.

Last updated: 20 September 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data?

CampsAway SASU, 12 Rue de la Part-Dieu, 69003 Lyon, France, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at cs@campsaway.com.

2. Information we collect

When you contact us, create an account, request a journey or make a reservation, we may collect your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, billing details, travel dates, group composition, journey preferences and correspondence.

We also collect technical information required to operate and protect the website, including IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, security logs and website activity.

3. Why we use your information

  • To answer enquiries and prepare journey proposals.
  • To process booking requests, reservations, payments and customer support.
  • To communicate essential information about your request or trip.
  • To operate, secure and improve campsaway.com.
  • To comply with legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute-management obligations.
  • To send marketing communications only where consent or another lawful basis permits.

4. Payments

Payments may be processed through secure payment providers, including Stripe. CampsAway does not intend to store complete payment-card details directly. Payment providers process payment information under their own security and privacy obligations.

5. Who receives your information?

We share only the information reasonably required with campsite operators, accommodation providers, campervan rental partners and other suppliers involved in preparing or fulfilling your journey. Information may also be shared with payment, hosting, website, communications and professional-service providers, or with public authorities where required by law. CampsAway does not sell personal data.

6. International transfers

Some technical providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, CampsAway relies on the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

7. How long information is kept

Contract-related information may be retained for five years, reflecting the applicable limitation period for contractual civil liability, and longer where tax, accounting or other legal rules require it. Enquiries and marketing information may be deleted or anonymised sooner where appropriate.

8. Security

CampsAway uses appropriate organisational, technical and physical measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or destruction. No internet transmission or storage system can, however, be guaranteed as completely secure.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Send requests to cs@campsaway.com or to our registered office. We aim to respond within one month.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, 3 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, France, or seek a judicial remedy.

Necessary cookies support essential site functions. Optional analytics or marketing cookies are used in accordance with the choices presented by the site’s consent controls. You may also manage cookies through your browser, although disabling necessary cookies may affect functionality.
